Chris J. Cox recieved his MA in Sociology from San Jose State University in 1998. His research interests include social problems, social stratification, and global sociology. His experience in education includes teaching social sciences at the community college and universty levels. He teaches general education and select upper division courses for the department of Sociology, in addition to introductory courses for the new Global Studies program at SJSU. He also teaches service learning courses in conjunction with the Community Change concentration housed in the Sociology department. Mr. Cox has led national and international service learning experiences (to the Southwestern U.S. and El Salvador)with student groups in a service learning program at SJSU. In 2004, he won the GOLD award (Graduate of the Last Decade) for the College of Social Sciences for his pioneering work in service learning at SJSU.
