Become an Internet Superstar! This course is designed to show you how becoming fully functional with the Internet will generate strategies for studying, develop good writing skills, acquire information competency, and other skills necessary to be successful in college as well as in your eventual occupation. The development of your technological interface, be it private/personal or academic, is vital to your future at SJSU.

You will also participate in MUSE program workshops, study the emerging technology used at SJSU including iTunes U at SJSU, learn about your peers, fellow students, meeting Senior students and learning how technology has affected their academic, personal and career futures, and through our own work we will be creating during the semester.


Class Participation, Goals and Assignments

Ultimately, your goal is to understand and have a rich portfolio of work that when you leave your academic environment here at SJSU, or if you continue on into graduate work, you will have a permanent body of work that you will be proud to show to potential employers and academics as well as family and friends! You will learn to create and understand what Blogs and Vlogs are, use of MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more - - Today is a fast paced, Internet and World Wide Web content development and deployment environment, and you need to be ready for the creation, production and use of Internet tools for personal or academic work throughout your academic career. You will have specific projects to develop throughout the semester, you will work in groups to learn the academic environment, harness your content, and stake your place in cyberspace. Enrollment in MUSE courses is limited to a small number of students because these courses are intended to be highly interactive and allow you to easily interact with your professor and fellow students. MUSE courses explore topics and issues from an interdisciplinary focus to show how interesting and important ideas can be viewed from different perspectives.
