Bio
Dr. Brook recieved a B.Sc. in chemistry from the University of Lancaster in England, and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
After postdoctoral positions at the University of Texas, Austin and the University of Colorado, Boulder, Dr Brook held a faculty position at the University of Detroit Mercy from 1997-2005. He moved to the Bay area in 2005 and joined the SJSU faculty on a full time basis in 2007.
Dr. Brook mainly teaches organic chemistry but has taught classes in inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry and solid state chemistry.
His research interests include the synthesis and properties of stable organic free radicals, and supramolecular coordination chemistry. He is particularly interested in applying this chemistry to the development of advanced materials.
