The physiology of hunger/malnutrition on human development and health; political, social, cultural, and gender factors that contribute to world hunger; scientific/technological foundations of population research and food production and their effect on the environment. (Prerequisites: Satisfaction of Writing Skills Test, Upper-division standing, and Completion of Core GE, (3 hours lecture/discussion)
