Bio

Serving as Senior Director, Program Development and External Partnerships, Jeff is responsible for extending and increasing San Jose State University research, grant and collaborative opportunities targeting both private and public sector initiatives. In addition to connecting campus faculty, students and academic programs with private, non-profit and public sector sponsors, he also works with a number of very dynamic University/City/Civic partnerships. These collaborations range from faculty/student community engagement projects (e.g. CommuniverCity) to economic development initiatives, such as Research Foundation's highly successful business incubators focused on sectors ranging from clean/green tech to international company marketing to US. Jeff joined the Research Foundation in March 2004 with 23 years of private sector experience working in the telecommunications industry holding positions in strategy, business development, marketing and sales. Over a 14 year career with Pacific Bell he served as Director of Broadband Services-Strategy and was the companies first Director of Sales (subsequently becoming its first Vice President of Sales for Bay Area Public Sector business unit). As a consultant he provided business/market development and strategic consulting services to private, public sector, and non-profit clients including the City of Los Angeles and the United Way. Gordon brings to current role significant experience facilitating collaborative ventures between public and private sector interests. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from San Diego State University, and M.A. in Public Policy Analysis from Claremont Graduate University. He was held a Coro Foundation Fellowship in Public Affairs.
