Ms. Pekarthy is a graduate of University of California at Santa Cruz and San Jose State University. She has been teaching sociology in the bay area for 9 years at DeAnza and Foothill College. Since fall of 2004 Ms. Pekarthy has taught at San Jose State in the department of Sociology. Her main interests are gender, family, socialization and stratification.
