Description

This course will examine: the religions, cultures & histories of diverse indigenous peoples; the roots of Contemporary/Neo-Paganism in the folklore & traditions of Europe, including popular & esoteric traditions; the formation of new & alternative religious movements, including festival cultures; the intersections of religion & ecology; the integral role of ritual, performance, & the creative arts in religion; questions of authenticity, syncretism, and ”otherness,” in religions & culture.
