EDLD 8086: Dissertation Seminar
Location: A&E 123
The focus of this course is to prepare students to conduct dissertation research that reflects the mission of the department and students’ own goals of understanding and addressing the needs of students, families, and communities who are seeking educational justice. We will build on the Proposal Draft completed as the Qual 2 submission and cover each of the skills and components needed to design an effective dissertation project. The year-long research sequence is centered on the concept of Applied Research Methods as Social Justice, emphasizing the development of methods that engage communities in the research in holistic and just ways, moving toward heightened understanding and strategies for addressing the equity/justice issues being investigated.
