Bio
Dr. Mitra Rokni earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from American University in Washington D.C. Her research and teaching interests include critical theory, political sociology, project of modernity, gender relations, and social justice in a global context.
Dr. Rokni has taught a variety of courses, some of which are: Social Theory; Social Change; Sociology of Media; Social Aspects of Human Sexuality; Global Socioeconomic Perspectives; Power, Privilege, and Wealth; Gender and Society; Social Problems, City in Global Society; Deviance and Conformity; Racial and Ethnic Groups; Cross Cultural Perspectives; Philosophy of Human Conduct; and Sociology of Literature.
