A writer and editor with experience in musicology, Douglass has edited novel manuscripts and collections of letters, anthologies, and musical facsimile editions. Recent work includes a biography reviewed in the London Sunday Times, Choice, and Booklist. Expertise in literature of the 19th and 20th centuries, British and American, stylistics (identification of individual authors by their styles). Educator who has directed a major professional development program for public school teachers, with five years experience teaching elementary school. Has also directed the teacher training program in the English Department at SJSU. Has made presentations on American Literature, Byron, Music of 19th century England, philosophy and literature, Appalachian Literature.
