Tom Altura is an assistant professor in the School of Management at San Jose State University. He received his Ph.D. and M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and holds a B.A. in Anthropology, also from UCLA. Tom’s research focuses on organizational and institutional change and has been published in the leading journal, Business & Society. He teaches in the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business’s undergraduate and M.B.A. programs, as well as the College of Engineering’s M.S. Engineering, Specialization in Business Leadership program. Tom currently teaches Developing and Managing People, Organization Theory, and Managing Organizational Change. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Tom has worked in the financial services industry and has also performed extensively as a jazz bassist.
