Religion: Sociology of Religion, particularly contemporary Mormonism.
Gay and Lesbian culture: Primarily from a sociological perspective, but with some historical depth; my own research is focused on gay men.
Symbolic Interaction & Sociological social psychology
Social Theory: Especially the nature, function, origins of culture and how it works, with heavy emphasis in John Dewey and William James' theory of mind and democracy.
Currently beginning a project that hopes to rethink social theory in light of recent research in cognitive science and human evolution.
