Description: Teaching the Visual Communication class to a class with students from graphic design, advertising, public affairs, and theater arts was challenging in terms of diversity of backgrounds and expectations. Many student perceived only the graphic design students would excel. To help students learn from their peers in their own space and pace, many assignment samples of students from all backgrounds were uploaded to OPEL, a password protected web site. From the usage and comments in OPEL, it was apparent that students were amazed by their peers and in themselves as they progressed in the course.
