What is SJSU Plus?
SJSU Plus is a pilot program of San José State University and Udacity to offer affordable college-level courses online. These courses typically include large numbers of students and involve interactive online content.
Who teaches SJSU Plus courses?
Courses are taught by qualified SJSU faculty. Instructor bios are available at Udacity.com. Select the course you are interested in and the page provides the course description, instructor bio and syllabus.
When do classes start?
See the Calendar. Summer SJSU Plus courses begin June 3rd.
Where is it held?
All the courses, including examinations, are online.
Will more courses become available this summer?
Five courses listed on this site are available.
How do I register?
Go to sjsu.edu/plus, select your course and pay online. SJSU students register through their MySJSU account. Non-SJSU students register through Udacity. Or simply choose the register button on the home page, sjsu.edu/plus, and follow instructions. Make sure to note the Course Number before registering.
How much are the classes?
$150 per course.
Am I qualified to register?
Current SJSU students, in- and out-of-state college students, community college students, veterans and high school students are welcome to enroll, as long as prerequisites are met.
How will I know I'm registered?
If you are an SJSU student, after you register and pay for your class, you will receive a confirmation email and instructions on starting your course.
If you register through Udacity, you will receive information on starting the course from them.
Why is it important to use the same email address for registration and the Udacity
The email address is what helps us identify you as a student and allows you to take the course and be communicated with by the instructor.
What do I do if I have difficulties with the online course platform?
If you are using only the Udacity platform, go to https://www.udacity.com/ for help. If your instructor is teaching the course in Canvas, go to the SJSU Help Desk for assistance, http://www.sjsu.edu/at/ec/canvas/.
How do you know it's me?
You are enrolled in an SJSU class and the University's Academic Integrity Policy requires honesty in all your academic course work including online course work.
How do I take an exam?
The class is completely online and you are required to have a web cam (see technology requirements listed in the course description) in order to take a proctored examination.
What are the prerequisites?
Each course description lists the prerequisites (if any). The EPT/ELM exam is applicable to students intending to transfer to San José State University or another CSU.
Can high school students attend?
High school students may enroll as long as the prerequisites, if any, are met.
Will my SJSU Plus credits transfer to a university other than SJSU?
After you are enrolled you will have a transcript record at San José State University. As a general recommendation, verify with your intended university if they will accept credit from SJSU.
