On Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at approximately 9:48 PM, a 17-year old male victim was walking south of the SJSU campus on South 8th Street between E. San Salvador Street and E. William Street, when several male juveniles approached him. The group attacked the victim and he was stabbed several times. The suspects fled on foot and remain at large. A friend drove the victim to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. SJPD officers established that the assault was gang motivated. The victim was not a SJSU student. This assault is being investigated by the San Jose Police Department.

On Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at approximately 12:45 PM, a robbery occurred in front of the SJSU Duncan Hall shuttle bus stop located at the corner of S. 5th St. and San Salvador St. The victim reported that he was walking near the shuttle bus stop when one suspect hit him on the head and a second suspect took his cell phone. The victim was not injured during the incident and there were no weapons seen. The suspects were last seen running westbound on San Salvador St. away from the campus. The first suspect was described as a black male, adult, in his early 20's, 6'02" - 6'03" tall, wearing an orange or red jacket. The second suspect was described as a black, male adult, in his early 20', 5'11" - 6'00" tall, wearing dark clothing. The victim did not report the incident until approximately 3:30 PM that afternoon.

On Wed. Nov. 23, 2011, at approximately 10:40 AM, an employee reported that a man tried to snatch her purse near the ATM kiosk at Parking Lot #4, east of the Student Union. The victim described the suspect as a black male, adult, 20's, last seen wearing a black puffy jacket, black beanie hat, blue jeans, and gray shoes. The suspect fled north toward San Fernando St. and remains at-large. The victim was not injured during the incident.
