Nancy, Everett, and Phyllis Ward Washington DC Internship

The Everett, Nancy, and Phyllis Ward Washington DC Internship is administered by the Political Science Department to create congressional internship opportunities for two students to spend a summer in Washington, DC. The summer stipend of $4,300 helps pay for housing, travel, and living expenses. You may apply online for this application here.

Scholarships (for housing and travel) are awarded to political science majors only; graduating seniors may apply. Students may also earn up to 4 units of academic credit.

Applicants should submit the following:

  • 1-2 page essay on why you want to intern with Congress
  • Résumé
  • Unofficial SJSU transcript
  • A graded paper from one of your classes (min. 3 pages)
  • Two SJSU Faculty References (letters are not required)
