Internships

 

Description:

Gain firsthand practical experience in politics and build your resume by working for an elected official, a campaign, an administrative agency, or a community organization. We have placements with almost all lo- cal officials, from city council to Congress, and with community organizations ranging from the South Bay Labor Council to the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. We will help you find a placement to suit your politics , your policy interests and your career goals. Interns are required to complete 150 hours at their placements. Interns meet as a seminar once a month, consult regularly with the director of the intern program, and write a paper analyzing their experiences at the end of the semester.

Prerequisites:

POLS 100W and 195 for all. Pols 102 for internships in state politics. POLS 103 for internships in local politics. These courses may be taken concurrently with the internships.
