Dennis C. Washington holds a Master of Planning degree from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. Dennis has served for over six years as Vice President for University Advancement at several universities: most recently for over one and one half years at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and four years at Kettering University, formerly General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan.
Dennis also worked for four years at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. He served as a Senior Consultant at Public Sector Consultants, Inc., a consulting firm in Lansing, Michigan. Dennis was also the Grants Coordinator for the City of Lansing in Lansing, Michigan.
Dennis has served as a Board member at Linden Academy, a charter school in Flint, Michigan and on countless boards that provide funds to help disadvantaged children in urban areas. He was raised in Detroit, Michigan and understands the value of hard work and perseverance as one of nine siblings.
Dennis is married to Christine and has two daughters. Dennis and his family reside in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
