Dean L. Bresciani, is originally from the Napa Valley. He received his doctorate in higher education-finance with a doctoral minor in economics from the University of Arizona, master's degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, and bachelor's degree in sociology from Humboldt State University.

Bresciani joined Texas A&M University in the summer of 2004 as the vice president for student affairs. Prior to Texas A&M, he served in a similar role at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has also served in a variety of academic and student affairs roles in California, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Arizona -- including the Arizona University System Board of Regents office, and Nebraska. He is currently an adjunct full professor in the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resources Development, and a consultant regarding higher education organizational and finance issues.

As vice president at Texas A&M, Bresciani was responsible for the overall experiences of students and had direct oversight for most out-of-class campus programs and services for students and the broader campus community of faculty, staff and university neighbors. Texas A&M has fostered an academic environment that is not limited to the classroom, and Bresciani believes that the broader campus environment is critical to successful learning and campus community engagement.

Bresciani's scholarship focuses on higher education finance and organizational topics, and he has spoken extensively on a wide variety of higher education issues in both invited and juried academic settings. He is a member of the Association of Public Land Grant Universities (APLU), under which he has served in council leadership roles; National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), under which he served on the association's national board of directors; National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO); Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE); Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), and the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International (ACUHO-I).

In his leisure time, Bresciani enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including rock climbing and backpacking. He has guided university student groups in such endeavors throughout the Western United States and Alaska.
