Chinese Delegation

Liu Yandong, one of China's highest ranking officials, met with President Whitmore and his staff on Tuesday, April 21. Their discussion featured presentations by San José State deans and faculty members and focused on the university's relationship with Silicon Valley's corporate community, economy and workforce. As a Politburo member, Liu oversees education, science and technology. The gathering is expected to facilitate joint research, student/faculty exchanges, and on-going dialogue between the California State University system and China's institutions of higher learning.
