July 1, 1981

To: All Campus Personnel
From: President Gail Fullerton
Subject: Informal Time Off

I have just learned that Governor Brown has authorized Friday, July 3, 1981 as an administrative day off for all state employees. I am pleased to announce that the San José State University campus will, therefore, be closed on Friday, July 3rd, except for the maintenance of essential services including those relating to CAR. This is administrative leave and will not affect any accrued leave or personal holiday earned by employees.

Because July 3rd is the final day for CAR, Admissions and Records, University Police, and other services necessary to handle campus registration and security needs will be provided. Employees required to work on July 3, 1981, in order to maintain these necessary services may be granted eight hours time off prior to the end of the August, 1981 pay period. Employees who are on vacation, sick leave, or CTO will be granted an equivalent amount of administrative leave prior to the end of the August 1981 pay period.

Dean Bohn should be contacted directly at 72185 for any question that may arise concerning a summer class session which may have been scheduled for July 3rd.
