Subject: Dwight Bentel Hall Dedication
Please join me and other members of the University at ceremonies marking the official change in the name of the Journalism Classroom Building to Dwight Bentel Hall. The dedication will take place on Thursday, April 1, on the south lawn near the entrance to the building. In the event of rain, the dedication will be in the University Theatre.
The dedication program will honor Dwight Bentel as the founder of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications, creator of the Spartan Daily, and as a distinguished teacher and administrator whose service to the campus and community has been of lasting influence. Recollections of Dr. Bentel's career will be provided by Academic Vice President Hobert Burns, Executive Vice President Emeritus William Dusel, and Dolores Spurgeon, Professor Emeritus of Journalism. A complete program is attached.
Following the dedication, you are also invited to an informal
reception on the second floor, journalism wing, of Dwight Bentel
Hall. I hope you will attend and help make the dedication a
memorable event.
