Subject: Robert D. Clark Distinguished Professor
I invite you to attend the lecture "The American Continents as Humanistic Metaphors," by Dr. Tomas Rivera, Chancellor of the University of California, Riverside, and the first Robert D. Clark Distinguished Visiting Professor, Thursday evening, May 5, 1983, 7 p.m., in the Faculty-Staff Dining Room. A reception honoring Chancellor Rivera will follow.
As many of you know, the Robert D. Clark Distinguished Visiting Professorship was established to recognize and honor the many lasting contributions to the campus of President Emeritus Clark. We are fortunate to have Chancellor Rivera as the first Clark Professor. He is an acknowledged leader in American higher education, and a significant voice in the growing body of Mexican-American letters. I hope you will join your colleagues in participating inthis historic event.
