Forty-three students were recognized in a scholarship awards ceremony that took place in the Umunum Room in the Student Union on May 16.

Dr. Vicki Park, Department of Educational Leadership, received a grant from the Spencer Foundation for a study with Dr. Amanda Datnow, UC San Diego.  The study is entitled "Teachers' Use of Data for Differentiated Instruction: A Study of the Intersection of Ability Group and Data Use."  Spencer Grants are national in scope and highly competitive.  Vicki is also a co-author of the following book:  Data-Driven Leadership by Amanda Datnow and Vicki Park, Jossey-Bass Leadership Library in Education, published this spring.

The Department of Elementary Education held its master’s student Research Colloquium May 14 in Sweeney Hall. Students presented their work to faculty, students, and interested community members. Many of the projects dealt with practical problems in the field and at local schools. Click here to see the event program (PDF).
