Dr. Bradley Olin
Interim AVP for Academic Budgets and Planning
Dr. Bradley Olin joined the Provost’s team as the interim AVP for Academic Budgets and Planning in June 2017. His primary responsibilities include managing the Academic Affairs Division budget and serving as SJSU’s Enrollment Planning and Reporting Officer.
Dr. Olin joined SJSU in 2015 as the director of Budget Planning and Risk Management. During his tenure, he directed the university budget program, improved financial management policies to better meet the needs of the university and CSU, and implemented the OpenGov Financial Transparency Platform. Before joining SJSU, he served as a system wide budget officer for the CSU Chancellors’ Office from 2011 to 2015. He spearheaded changes to the Trustees’ system-wide fee policies, managed the annual $49 million lottery budget, and collaborated across units and divisions to enhance financial systems.
In addition to his service to the CSU Bradley has accumulated nearly a decade of experience serving local governments in the areas of municipal policy analysis and implementation.
He holds a bachelor’s in Latin American studies and Spanish from Cornell College, a master’s in public administration from the University of Southern California, and an Ed.D. from CSU, Long Beach. His research interests focus on mentoring, succession planning, and leadership development.
Dr. Olin finds profound joy from being a devoted husband and proud father of two wonderful daughters. When he's not working, he enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, running, bicycling, and discovering new fun things to do in and around Santa Cruz.
