Why did you choose your major?

I chose Digital Media Art as my major because of Art 74 intro to digital media. After mashing up images in Photoshop and turning them into websites in Dreamweaver, and learning video, made me want to change my major from design to art.

What does receiving this particular award mean to you?

This award feels validating to me knowing the discipline it took to be committed to going to school and being a great student, I had to make the change for the best. This award shows I made the right choice. It’s a pad on the back.

Who has been influential in your life and/or who has contributed to your academic success?

Everyone I would let contribute to my success, I would let them. I carefully filtered and formed my own super group of associates that I chose to take advise from.  Of course my mom, who always guided me towards art and the significance of hard work, positive thinking, and a sense of humor, is the only way to live.

Did you overcome any hardships or adversities in your life that have helped shape who you are today?  And if so, could you please briefly elaborate?

The hardships I overcame or adversities in my life that I can remember was looking at my 436 square foot studio apartment in downtown Campbell and knowing that was my future unless I went to school and changed it.

What would you say to other students to encourage or inspire them to attain academic excellence?

What I would say to students to encourage them or inspire them to attain academic excellence is YOU CAN DO IT. For no other reason than to challenge yourself to be the best, do it for your pride and honor and yourself to know you did your best.

How do you envision yourself in 5-10 years?

In 5-10 years I envision myself doing a job I enjoy and collaborating with people I respect and would be excited to produce something amazing. Whether it is in Grad school or the real world, I’m very excited to use my skills with what road lies ahead.
