College of Applied Sciences and Arts

Message was originally sent to SJSU faculty, staff, and students on 6/4/2014:

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of Academic Affairs, I would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Charles Bullock, for his dedication and service as Dean of the College of Applied Sciences and Arts. Dr. Bullock’s last day as dean will be July 1, 2014, and he will return to the faculty to resume teaching and research in the Department of Health Science and Recreation in Spring 2015.

During his tenure as CASA Dean, Dr. Bullock had numerous major achievements. He was instrumental in securing a unique university and community partnership agreement to staff the Timpany Center, a life-changing adult rehabilitation facility located in Santa Clara County. Under his guidance and leadership, CASA raised $32.5 million. Much of CASA’s external funding efforts enabled Dr. Bullock to more than double research initiatives across the college. He and his colleagues in CASA are also very proud of the CASA Student Success Center he founded. Thousands of SJSU students now utilize that very welcoming facility for academic and career advising.

Dr. Bullock has enjoyed over 5 years as Dean of CASA at San José State University, and has been a devoted and loyal member of our community. We wish him well as he moves back to the classroom and thank him for his dedication and accomplishments. An Interim Dean will be announced shortly.

Best regards,

Andy Feinstein

Provost and VP of Academic Affairs
