Honors Convocation
The President, Provost,
and Deans proudly
host the 46th Annual Honors Convocation at San José State University
Event Center Friday, April 25, 2008 6:00 pm
San José State University is proud of its distinguished
students. We recognize their
outstanding achievements and hope that their successes will continue to inspire
them and encourage others to attain academic excellence.
History
The Honors
Convocation was inaugurated in 1962 by three honor societies, Phi Kappa Phi,
Sigma Xi and Phi Beta Kappa Faculty Club, to recognize and encourage superior
academic achievement at the University.
President’s Scholars
Undergraduate students who have earned a 4.0 grade
point average at San José State University in at least two contiguous semesters
of the three semesters prior to the Honors Convocation.
Dean’s Scholars Undergraduate students who have earned a
3.65 or higher grade point average at San José State University in at least two
contiguous semesters of the three semesters prior to the Honors
Convocation.
