1. My legal name has been changed. How do I correct my records with SJSU?

You will need to file a Change of Name request(pdf) and provide us the required documentation. Please follow the instructions carefully.

2. How do I change/add my major/minor?

Please go to our website and download the form titled Change of Major or Minor(pdf). Please follow the instructions carefully.

3. Where do I send my Deferment form to, or who do I contact?

Please submit your deferment form by mail to:

                             San Jose State University

                                Office of the Registrar

                                One Washington Square

                                San Jose, CA 95192-0009

or in person at Window "R"(Registrar)  in the Student Services Center (SSC),

or by fax at 408-924-2077, Attn: Student Information Services team (SIS).

4. I am a third party e.g. potential employer, how do I verify degree or enrollment of SJSU students?

The National Student Clearinghouse is our authorized agent for providingall degree and enrollment verifications.

5. Where do I find course descriptions?

Current course descriptions can be found on the SJSU catalog or the course syllabus from the professor.

Electronic copies are available for the years 1992 to the present through College Source Online.

Course descriptions prior to Fall 1992 were archived in the SJSU library. You can request these through SJ Library and SJSU Library website with some fee for research and copy service.
