Learn More About Your Degree, Diploma, and Honors
Degrees are posted about one month after the end of the semester
- Fall candidates - end of January
- Spring candidates - mid June
- Summer candidates - end of August
Note: once a degree is posted, the record is sealed, and no changes may be made to your record. This includes grade changes, addition of a major or minor, or dropping a major or minor.
Name Used on Diploma
Make sure that your primary name is current in MySJSU. That is the name we print
on your diplmona. To update your name, submit the Personal Info Change [pdf] form.
Printing and Delivery
Diplomas are printed on a rolling basis. You can expect to receive your diploma approximately
2-4 weeks after your degree has been posted. Be sure that your diploma/mailing address
is current in MySJSU.
Diploma Not Received
If you have not received your diploma nor a hold letter within two months from the end of the semester, please email your evaluator [pdf].
To qualify for Latin Honors, both your SJSU cumulative and your Overall GPAs must meet the minimum requirements. Honors will be noted on both diploma and transcripts.
