Enrollment/ Degree/ GPA Verification

Enrollment/Degree Verification:

 All enrollment and degree verifications are processed through the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC).

 Notes:

      • NSC verifications are provided 24/7/365.
      • The exception is if dates of attendance are prior to 1991, then the verification may take 2 to 3 business days to process.
      • Please be sure to provide the NSC with as much information as possible including all names used, dates of attendance if known, social security number, and date of birth.
      • The NSC does charge a fee. Please see their website for applicable fees.

Enrollment Verification Letter

You may request an official enrollment verification letter by visiting us in person at window “R”, in the Student Service Center. A valid form of identification such as your SJSU Tower Card or Driver's license will be required.  

Enrollment Status

Full-time, three-quarter time, half-time, and part-time enrollment is determined as follows. All graduate courses (200 level) are weighted by 1.5

Undergraduate and Postbaccalaureate Students

Full-time

Three-quarter time

Half-time

Part-time

12.0 or more units

9.0-11.0 units

6.0-8.0 units

less than 6.0 units

 

Graduate and Postbaccalaureate Students

Degree Verification Letter

You may request an official degree verification letter by visiting us in person at window “R”, in the Student Service Center(SSC). A valid form of identification such as your SJSU Tower Card or Driver's license will be required.  

Pending Degree Verification Letter 

If your graduation application is on file, you may request an official pending degree verification letter by visiting us in person at window “R”, in the Student Service Center(SSC). A valid form of identification such as your SJSU Tower Card or Driver's license will be required.   

GPA Verification

If you are local: Please visit us in the Student Service Center, window "R", to request a GPA verification letter. A valid form of identification such as your SJSU Tower Card or Driver's license will be required.  

If you are not local: Please submit a request in writing to Office of the Registrar. Requests may be mailed to us or fax directly to 408-924-2077. The request must contain the following information:

      • Your full name and any previous names you may have used as a SJSU student
      • Your SJSU ID number - which may be your Social Security number
      • Your date of birth
      • The approximate dates of attendance, if known
      • Complete address where the letter should be mailed or fax number if it should be faxed
      • Your contact information
      • Your signature
