I applied for graduation BUT I did NOT complete all graduation requirements
Undergraduate graduation candidate files will be reviewed after grades and academic standing have both been finalized for the term you applied to graduate. The final review of your file takes approximately one month from the time academic standing has been processed. Visit our main Graduation website for updates and timelines.
Following are approximate times of your degree posting - listed by graduation term:
- Fall graduation candidates – end of January
- Spring graduation candidates – mid July
- Summer graduation candidates – mid September
To check if your degree has been awarded please go to MySJSU to view your SJSU unofficial transcript. For instructions on how to view your SJSU unofficial transcript, see View My Unofficial Transcript.
If you did not complete all degree requirements, expect to receive a Hold Letter via your preferred email (Please make sure to check your spam/trash folders). A Hold Letter lists outstanding requirements. Review it carefully! The Hold Letter also provides a deadline to submit documents and/or address particular issues.
If you do not complete all your requirements for the term you applied to graduate, you must submit a Graduation Date Change Form(PDF) with a $10 fee. Note that your Graduation date/term on your record DOES NOT automatically rollover to the next term.
If you do not change your graduation term, your graduation file will become inactive after the term you applied and you will not receive any future enrollment appointment. No further action will be taken on your file.
Please see your major advisor and/or visit your College Success Center for academic advice, advice about registration, and/or assistance with forms.
