I have graduated, now what?
Undergraduate graduation candidate files will be reviewed after grades and academic standing have both been finalized for the term you applied to graduate. The final review of your file takes approximately one month from the time academic standing has been processed. Visit our main Graduation website for updates and timelines.
Following are approximate times of your degree posting - listed by graduation term:
- Fall graduation candidates – end of January
- Spring graduation candidates – mid July
- Summer graduation candidates – mid September
You can also go to MySJSU and view the MyProgress page.
Diplomas are printed and mailed on a rolling basis and can take 2-4 weeks to receive after your degree has been posted. For information on how to update your diploma mailing address: go to Change of Contact Information page.
In order to qualify for Latin Honors, your SJSU Cumulative AND Overall GPAs both must meet the minimum GPA requirements. The honors notation will be noted on the official transcript and diploma.
BOTH the cumulative SJSU AND all college GPAs must be:
- 3.85 and above Summa Cum Laude
- 3.70 and above Magna Cum Laude
- 3.50 and above Cum Laude
After you have graduated, your undergraduate record is sealed. No changes will be made on the undergraduate record.
