Center for the Development of Recycling

CDR staffing County of Santa Clara Household Hazardous Wastes collection events

County of Santa Clara Household Hazardous Wastes

Students from CDR are staffing County of Santa Clara Household Hazardous Wastes collection events. Students check in residents cars who are then provided service by a team of trained professionals from the County.  The program serves 13 cities in the County.

CDR RecycleStuff.org

CDR Improvements

On June 1, CDR will have a contract to improve it's countywide recycling website, RecycleStuff.org, a contract to operate the county recycling hotline (the 25th!), and a contract to operate the county HHW call and appointment center.

Martha Heasley Cox Center for Steinbeck Studies

2016 Steinbeck Award

On February 24, the Martha Heasley Cox Center for Steinbeck Studies presented the 2016 Steinbeck Award to civil rights pioneer Ruby Bridges in front of a sold-out crowd of 800 in the Student Union. Read the Mercury News article about the event here.

2016 International Steinbeck Conference

From May 4- 6, the Martha Heasley Cox Center for Steinbeck Studies hosted the 2016 International Steinbeck Conference, welcoming scholars from the US, Canada, Japan, Israel, Slovenia, and Algeria to the SJSU campus for three days of presentations on Steinbeck's life and work.

Silicon Valley Business Plan Competition 

The Silicon Valley Business Plan Competition is an annual forum to encourage innovation in the SJSU community, and reward student participation in new venture creation. It is Campus wide, and open to all SJSU students and alumni.
