SJSU Salzburg Fellows | Application
We are inviting applications from highly-qualified faculty to serve as SJSU Salzburg Fellows during 2015-2016. This is a competitive opportunity for outstanding colleagues from across the campus to broaden their understanding of significant global issues and to help globalize SJSU.
After completing a variety of orientation activities during the Spring 2015 semester, the new Fellows will attend an intensive week-long session of the Global Citizenship Program hosted by the Salzburg Global Seminar in Summer 2015 (July). The session will be held at the Seminar's historic palace of Schloß Leopoldskron in Salzburg (Austria), the home of Mozart and a UN World Heritage Site located in the heart of Europe at the foot of the Austrian Alps.
Participants must commit to serving as Fellows for an 18-month period from Spring 2015–Spring 2016, including completion of a collaborative project with SJSU Salzburg Scholars (students) to promote global citizenship, positively affect the University as a whole, and strengthen their own abilities to live and work in a complex interconnected world.
We expect to select 8-10 new Fellows this year, depending on available funding. Different units on campus provide a variety of full and partial financial support to help cover program fees in Salzburg, but Fellows are generally responsible for covering their own travel costs. Fellows may also utilize their own funds from campus, external, or private sources to participate in the Program. All Fellows must secure the approval of their immediate supervisors and the Provost's Office to attend the session in Salzburg, consistent with current CSU regulations regarding international travel, and are responsible for obtaining valid passports and (if required) appropriate visas.
