Minor in Science Education
Starting in Fall 2013, the Science Education program will offer a minor in Science Education that will allow undergraduate students in the sciences to 1) explore their interests in both science and science education; and 2) make significant progress towards either the single subject credential or the multiple subject credential while still an undergraduate.
The minor in Science Education can be undertaken in conjunction with any BA or BS program in which students are subject matter competent in biology, chemistry, physics/astronomy, meteorology/climate science or geology/earth sciences.
The science education minor is designed as a program of study that will allow students who are interested in becoming elementary and middle school teachers to enhance their science content background and assist them in preparation for the California Subject Examination Tests (CSETS).
