The deadline to submit all documents to our Department (Sweeney Hall 305) has been extended to December 1st.**

SPRING 2018

 SINGLE SUBJECT CREDENTIAL PROGRAM
   ("Flexible Program")

  

Extended Deadline for Domestic Applicants: 

  • The final deadline to apply to Graduate Admissions (through CalState Apply) is November 1st.
  • Note recent change: The final deadline to submit application materials to our department has been extended to December 1st, with the exception of proof of Subject Matter Competency. 
    • We will accept your proof of Subject Matter Competency up until December 15, 2017. This will be the final deadline to submit proof of SMC. Without proof of SMC we will not be able to admit you for the Spring 2018 semester. 

 

 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS DEADLINES [F-1 Visa]

  1. Deadline to Apply and Submit all required documents:
  • To Apply to Graduate Admissions: September 1, 2017
    Document Deadline to Graduate Admissions (Transcripts, etc.): September 20, 2017
  • To THE DEPARTMENT OF TEACHER EDUCATION (SH 305)
    ALL Application Requirements due by: October 1, 2017 

There is no extended deadline for International Students. 


Spring 2018 semester begins January 24, 2018.

 


 

SUMMER 2018

 

YEARLONG RESIDENCY CREDENTIAL PROGRAM ("YRP")

 


Summer Domestic Applicants  Deadline: March 16, 2018

  • Applicants who submit all Application Requirements (including a copy of your passed CSET scores) to Teacher Education by March 16 can be considered for the Yearlong Residency Program (YRP).
  • Deadline to apply to Graduate Admissions: TBA

    There is an interview process for acceptance into the Yearlong Residency Program. Interviews will be scheduled as applications are received. 
    • Early applications are highly recommended.

    • An Additional Requirement of the Yearlong Residency program:
      Include a cover letter (one page, single spaced) outlining teaching and related experiences/skills you believe make you a good candidate for the Yearlong Residency Program.
  •  Note: There is no extended deadline for summer. 
  •  If you apply for the Summer Yearlong Residency Program (YRP), and do not get accepted to that program, you may apply for the Fall semester.
    • You will then need to apply again to Graduate Admissions for the Fall semester (and pay the application fee again) but you will not need to re-submit any documents to the Department of Teacher Education.
  • Graduate Admissions Document Deadline (for transcripts and other required documents): TBA
  • Do not adhere to deadlines on the Graduate Admissions website. Adhere to our deadlines on this page - our deadline is earlier. 

 

 

Summer International Applicants Deadlines:

  1. Deadline to submit all Application Requirements to the Department of Teacher Education (SH 305): March 16, 2018
  • Deadline to apply to Graduate Admissions: TBA
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: If you apply for the Summer Yearlong Residency Program (YRP), and do not get accepted to that program, you may apply for the Fall semester.
    • You will then need to apply again to Graduate Admissions for the Fall semester (and pay the application fee again) but you will not need to re-submit any documents to the Department of Teacher Education.
  • Graduate Admissions Document Deadline (for transcripts and other required documents): TBA

 

Other Notes:

  • The Yearlong Residency Program is only open to students who can be full-time in the Fall & Spring semesters.
  • The schedule for the summer classes have not yet been determined.

 


  

INTERNSHIP CREDENTIAL PROGRAM

 


Domestic Applicants PRIORITY DEADLINE: March 16, 2018

  • Applicants who submit all Application Requirements (including a copy of your passed CSET scores) to Teacher Education by March 16 will have first priority of being considered for the Internship Credential Program which begins classes in Summer 2018.
      • ONE ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT FOR THIS PROGRAM IS...
        Include a cover letter (one page, single spaced) outlining teaching and related experiences/skills you believe make you a good candidate for the Internship Program.

Domestic Applicants Deadlines:

FALL 2018

SINGLE SUBJECT CREDENTIAL PROGRAM ("Flexible Program")

Domestic and International Priority Application Deadline: March 16, 2018

  • Applicants who submit all Application Requirements to Secondary Education by the Priority Deadline of March 16, 2018 can be considered for admission in time to register for classes during the advanced registration period.
  • This guarantees the greatest flexibility in program planning and class scheduling. In addition, applicants who meet the Priority Deadline are eligible to be considered for the Yearlong Residency Program option which begin in Summer '18 (see details above, under the "Summer 2018" heading).
  • NOTE: Do NOT rely on the deadline on the Graduate Admissions website, our deadline is earlier.

 

Extended Deadline for Domestic Applicants: June 1, 2018

  • Applicants who cannot meet the Priority Deadline can still submit their Application Requirements (including applying to and submitting official transcripts Graduate Admissions) any time up until June 1, 2018. 
  • By missing the priority deadline, you will not be guaranteed a class schedule of your choosing, and may have to complete a part-time load in your first semester.  You are advised to submit your application requirements as soon as possible as Program Plans and class scheduling are subject to availability and assigned on a first come first served basis. 

 

Extended Deadline for International Applicants: April 1, 2018

  • Applicants who cannot meet the Priority Deadline can still submit their applications items by April 1, 2018
      • Deadline to apply to Graduate Admissions: April 1, 2018
      • Document Deadline to Graduate Admissions (Student Services Center): April 20, 2018
      • Deadline to submit all Application Requirements to the Department of Teacher Education (SH 305): April 1, 2018
  • By missing the priority deadline, you will not be guaranteed a flexible program and class schedule, and may have to do a part-time load in your first semester.  You are advised to submit your application requirements as soon as possible as Program Plans and class scheduling are subject to availability.
