YEARLONG RESIDENCY PROGRAM ("YRP")

&

INTERNSHIP CREDENTIAL PROGRAM

 
Summer Domestic Applicants  Deadline: March 11, 2019

  • Deadline to submit Application Packet to Teacher Ed [SH 305]: March 11
  • Additional Requirement of the Yearlong Residency/Internship programs (due March 11):
    • Include a cover letter (one page, single spaced) outlining teaching and related experiences/skills you believe make you a good candidate for the Yearlong Residency Program or Internship Program (whichever applies).
  • Deadline to apply to Graduate Admissions (CalState Apply): March 11*
    • *NOTE: Do not adhere to deadlines on the Graduate Admissions website. Adhere to our deadlines on this page - our deadline is earlier.
  • Early applications are highly recommended.
  • There is an interview process for acceptance into the Yearlong Residency Program/Internship Program. Interviews will be scheduled as applications are received.
  • There is no extended deadline for summer. 
  •  If you apply for the Summer Yearlong Residency Program (YRP) or Internship Program, and do not get accepted to that program, you may apply for the Fall semester.
    • You will then need to apply again to Graduate Admissions for the Fall semester (and pay the application fee again) but you will not need to re-submit any documents to the Department of Teacher Education.
  • Graduate Admissions Document Deadline (for transcripts and other required documents): March 11*
    • GAPE document deadline is March 11* if you've graduated more than one semester prior to entering our program. If you're finishing your BA the semester before you begin our program, your transcripts are due to Graduate Admissions by April 20.

Summer International Applicants Deadlines:

  1. Deadline to submit all Application Requirements to the Department of Teacher Education [SH 305]: March 11, 2019
  • Deadline to apply to Graduate Admissions: February 1
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: If you apply for the Summer Yearlong Residency Program (YRP) or Internship Program, and do not get accepted to that program, you may apply for the Fall semester.
    • You will then need to apply again to Graduate Admissions for the Fall semester (and pay the application fee again) but you will not need to re-submit any documents to the Department of Teacher Education.
  • Graduate Admissions Document Deadline (for transcripts and other required documents): February 20

 

Other Notes:

  • The Yearlong Residency Program and Internship Program are open only to students who can be full-time in the Fall & Spring semesters.
  • The schedule for the summer classes have not yet been determined (but typcially run Mondays/Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays during the months of June & July).

 


 

FALL 2019

SINGLE SUBJECT CREDENTIAL PROGRAM ("Flexible Program")

Domestic and International PRIORITY Application Deadline: March 11, 2019*

  • Applicants who submit their CalState Apply application and submit the additional required Application Requirements to the Teacher Education Department by the Priority Deadline of March 11, 2019* can be considered for admission in time to register for classes during the advanced registration period.
    • This guarantees the greatest flexibility in program planning and class scheduling. In addition, applicants who meet the Priority Deadline are eligible to be considered for the Yearlong Residency Program option which begins in Summer '19 (see details above, under the "Summer 2019" heading).
  • Document Deadline to Graduate Admissions (Student Services Center): March 11, 2019*

*NOTE: Do NOT rely on the deadline on the Graduate Admissions website, our deadline is earlier.

 

EXTENDED Deadline for Domestic Applicants: June 1, 2019

  • Applicants who submit their CalState Apply application and submit the additional required Application Requirements to the Teacher Education Department by the Extended Deadline of June 1, 2019 can be considered for admission in time to register for classes during the advanced registration period.
    • By missing the priority deadline, you will not be guaranteed a class schedule of your choosing, and may have to complete a part-time load in your first semester.  You are advised to submit your application requirements as soon as possible as Program Plans and class scheduling are subject to availability and assigned on a first come first served basis.
  • Document Deadline to Graduate Admissions (Student Services Center): June 20, 2019

 

EXTENDED Deadline for International Applicants: April 1, 2019

  • Applicants who submit their CalState Apply application and submit the additional required Application Requirements to the Teacher Education Department by the Extended Deadline of April 1, 2019 can be considered for admission in time to register for classes during the advanced registration period.
    • By missing the priority deadline, you will not be guaranteed a flexible program and class schedule, and may have to do a part-time load in your first semester.  You are advised to submit your application requirements as soon as possible as Program Plans and class scheduling are subject to availability.
  • Document Deadline to Graduate Admissions (Student Services Center): April 20, 2019

 


 

SPRING 2020

 SINGLE SUBJECT CREDENTIAL PROGRAM
   ("Flexible Program")

  

Deadline for Domestic Applicants: 

  • Deadline to apply to Graduate Admissions (CalState Apply):  November 1, 2019
    • There will be no extensions to this deadline
  • Deadline to submit all required documents to Teacher Education [SH 305] and to Graduate Admissions (transcripts, etc.):  November 20, 2019

  

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS DEADLINES [F-1 Visa]

  • Deadline to apply to Graduate Admissions (CalState Apply):  October 1, 2019
    • There will be no extensions to this deadline
  • Deadline to submit all required documents to Teacher Education [SH 305] and to Graduate Admissions (transcripts, etc.):  October 20, 2019

**There is no extended deadline for the Spring semester.
