SUMMER 2013
SINGLE SUBJECT INTERN CREDENTIAL PROGRAM
Update as of February 27th, 2013 regarding SJSU Single Subject Internship Credential
Program:
Unfortunately, as of February 27th, 2013 the two-year SJSU Single Subject Internship Credential Program will be on hiatus beginning Summer 2013 pending further notice about program funding. Due to this change, San Jose State
University will no longer admit intern applicants. All prospective intern applicants
will be automatically considered for our YearLong Residency Program (YRP), which begins
Summer 2013, and the Flexible Program which begins Fall 2013. For more information on the YRP program please visit
the program's webpage.
Although the Intern Credential Program will be on hiatus, candidates who are current
students and have already completed phase I student teaching and specific coursework
in the Single Subject Credential Program may qualify to teach on an Intern Credential
if offered a teaching contract by a local school district. This, however, will be determined on a case-by-case basis upon consultation with the program director.
For more information, please contact Ivy Torres [408-924-3649 Mon-Thurs 2pm-4pm].

- Applicants who submit all Application Requirements to Secondary Education (including applying to and being accepted by Graduate Admissions) by the "Priority Deadline" of April 8th can be considered for the Yearlong Residency Program (YRP) which begins classes in Summer '13.
The only pre-requisite that we are making an exception on is the Technology requirement -you have until the end of your first semester in the program to complete this requirement.

FALL 2013
SINGLE SUBJECT CREDENTIAL PROGRAM ("Flexible Program")
Priority Deadline: April 8th, 2013
- Applicants who submit all Application Requirements to Secondary Education (including applying to and being accepted by Graduate Admissions) by the "Priority Deadline" of April 8th can be considered for admission in time to register for classes during the advanced registration period. This guarantees the greatest flexibility in program planning and class scheduling. In addition, applicants who meet the Priority Deadline are eligible to be considered for the Intern and Yearlong Residency Program options which begin in Summer '13.
Extended Deadline: May 27th, 2013
- Applicants who cannot meet the "Priority Deadline" can still submit their Application Requirements (including applying to and being accepted by Graduate Admissions) any time up until May 27th. You are advised to submit your application requirements as soon as possible as Program Plans and class scheduling are subject to availability.
The only pre-requisite that we are making an exception on is the Technology requirement -you have until the end of your first semester in the program to complete this requirement.
The Fall '13 semester begins the third week of August, 2013.
