The Single Subject Credential program is a community of professors and students that makes major contributions to public and private education in northern California and beyond. As a member of the Connie L. Lurie College of Education, we are dedicated to the theme of equity and excellence. It is our goal to prepare educators who can function effectively and sensitively in the multicultural, multilingual, and technologically complex environment of California 's secondary schools. The Single Subject Credential Program strives to provide opportunities for candidates to address and attain the following Student Learning Outcomes:

·          articulate conceptual frameworks relating to culture, power, and equity and how these influence teaching and learning.

·          discuss legal issues and ethical choices that influence education.

·          discuss interrelationships among family, community, student learning, and success in school.
