Program Options

San Jose State University offers two ways to earn a Single Subject Credential:

Traditional Single Subject Teaching Credential 

• take courses full-time or part-time
• student teach under the supervision of a resident teacher and a university faculty member.

Intern Single Subject Credential Teaching Credential

• work at least 60% as a teacher with one of the participating school districts
• take courses on a part-time basis
• receive support from an onsite coach and a university faculty member.
