At its meeting of December 4, 2006, the Academic Senate passed the following Policy Recommendation presented by Sigurd Meldal for the Instruction and Student Affairs Committee.

POLICY  RECOMMENDATION

AMENDMENT OF POLICIES S73-4 AND S97-1
Second Baccalaureate Registration Priority

 

Affected policies: S73-4, S97-1

 

Whereas:       The current registration policy (S97-1) does not mention second baccalaureate students, and

 

Whereas:       The policy providing guidelines for second baccalaureates (S73-4) does not refer to registration packets for continuing second baccalaureate students,

                        therefore be it

 

Resolved:       That section (2) of S73-4 be removed:

 

2.         All new second baccalaureate students shall receive registration packets with Juniors.

 

And the subsequent sections be renumbered accordingly.

            And be it further

 

Resolved:       That the registration policy S97-1 be amended to list second baccalaureate students between seniors and juniors in priority, the priority list to become:

 

Group 1: Priority Students

Group 2: First Time Freshmen

Group 3: Graduating Students (Seniors, Graduate Students, Second Baccalaureate Students)

Group 4: Graduate Students

Group 5: Seniors

Group 6: Second baccalaureate students

Group 7: Juniors

Group 8: All other students


(Students in Groups 2-8 will register on the basis of rotating alphabetical cycles within each group).

                        And be it further

 

Resolved:       That the Registration Policy (S97-1) as amended by this policy be implemented for the Summer 2007 semester if possible, but no later than Fall 2007.
