At its meeting of May 11, 2009, the Academic Senate approved the following policy recommendation presented by Senator Sivertsen for the Instruction and Student Affairs Committee.

Policy Recommendation
Priority Registration
Whereas: The current registration policy (S97-1) calls for all student groups receiving priority registration be reviewed every five years; and
Whereas: This has not happened since the Enrollment Advisory Committee was merged with Student Success (SM-S01-3); and
Whereas: The Student Success Committee has asked all groups receiving priority registration to reapply by March 31, 2009; and
Whereas: The Student Success Committee will be drafting a new priority registration policy to be forwarded to Instruction and Student Affairs before the end of the spring 2009 term; therefore be it
Resolved: That all groups currently receiving priority registration shall continue to have this privilege through the spring 2010; and be it
Resolved: That all groups currently receiving priority registration shall reapply to the Student Success Committee if a new policy is enacted; and be it
Resolved: That the Student Success Committee will not accept any new applications for priority registration until fall of 2009; and be it
Resolved: That, if a new policy is not enacted by fall 2009, the Student Success Committee will reevaluate all existing groups receiving priority registration and also any new applications for priority registration with respect to the existing policy guidelines in time for priority registration for fall 2010.
