At its meeting of May 8, 1995, the Academic Senate approved the following Policy Recommendation presented by Chris Jochim for the Organization and Government Committee.

BY-LAW AMENDMENT

Whereas, Executive Order No. 429 (Instructionally Related Activities Fee, Dec. 30, 1983) states: “Faculty and administrators shall be appointed [to the IRA Advisory Committee] by the campus President after appropriate consultation,” and

Whereas, “Appropriate consultation” in this matter is not now specifically covered in Senate By-Law 12 (Faculty Appointments to Off-Campus and Presidential Bodies), be it

Resolved, That By-Law 12 be amended by adding:

12.2.c. Appointments of Faculty to the Instructionally Related Activities Advisory Committee shall be made by the President after consultation with the elected members of the Executive Committee.
