At its
meeting of November 19, 2007, the Academic Senate passed the following Senate
Management Resolution presented by Senator Pat Backer for the Organization and
Government Committee.
SENATE
MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATION
CHANGING THE
MEMBERSHIP OF
THE STUDENT
SUCCESS COMMITTEE
Be it resolved that the Ex Officio seat for the Director of
MOSAIC on the Student Success Committee be removed; and be it further
Resolved that an Ex Officio seat for the Director of Academic
Advising and Retention Services be added to the Student Success Committee.
Rationale:
The
matters that are considered by the Student Success Committee are more of an
academic nature than an extracurricular nature. Therefore, the participation of the Director
of MOSAIC has been minimal in this committee.
The VP for Student Affairs would like to replace it with the Director of
Academic Advising and Retention Services because that office deals with the
type of issues that come up in Student Success. The Director of Mosaic supports this change.
