At its meeting of February 28, 2005, the Academic Senate passed the following Senate Management Recommendation presented by Sally Veregge for the Organization and Government Committee.

SENATE MANAGEMENT RESOLUTION

INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS AND STUDENTS COMMITTEE

 

 

Whereas, the IPSC members serve as liaisons to respective academic units and address study abroad students and international students, and

 

Whereas, the IPSC advocates for and serves as resource to international programs and services, for example,

a.      Study abroad

b.      International students and scholars

c.      International House

d.      The Global Studies Initiative

e.      International Leadership Programs, and

 

Whereas, the IPSC educates the campus on international programs and services, therefore be it resolved that the charge of the IPSC be amended as follows:

 

International Programs and Students Committee [ISA] - Reviews and recommends on proposals for policies and procedures on SJSU international programs and activities; contracts and arrangements (including student and faculty exchanges); studies problems matters related to foreign students on this campus international students and scholars, as well as faculty and student exchanges; advises administrators and participating colleges and departments; recommends policies and procedures  promotes, and supports an international perspective throughout SJSU.
