At its meeting of April 20, 2009, the Academic Senate approved the following Senate Management Resolution presented by Senator Backer for the Organization and Government Committee.

Changing the time frame for the Task Force to Investigate Open Access to Faculty and Student Publications
Resolved, Amend SM-S08-2, and change the date for the Task Force to make its recommendations to the Academic Senate from March 2009 to May 1, 2010.
Rationale:
On March 10, 2008, SM-S08-2 established a Task Force to Investigate Open Access to Faculty and Student Publications. The Task Force gave a status report to the Academic Senate at the March 16, 2009 Academic Senate meeting. At this time, the Task Force requested more time to finish its work. This Senate Management Resolution extends the time frame for the Task Force and allows the committee more time to finish its work.
