At its meeting of September 24, 2007, the Academic Senate passed the following Sense of the Senate Resolution presented by Helen Stevens for the Executive Committee.

SENSE OF THE SENATE RESOLUTION

SUPPORTING

INTERNATIONAL WEEK TO BE HELD

OCTOBER 28 THROUGH NOVEMBER 2, 2007

Whereas, San José State University serves a student body and community that is extraordinarily diverse and becoming more so, and

Whereas, It is one of San José State University’s highest aspirations to create and

maintain a supportive environment that serves all our diverse students, and

Whereas, It is important for the San José State University campus community to

demonstrate the importance of global perspectives, and

Whereas, San José State University is committed to involving students in co-

curricular activities that include an international, global component; therefore be it

Resolved, that the Academic Senate recognize International Week at San

José State University as a program of activities to be embraced

by the academic, student and administrative communities of the campus, and

Resolved that all campus divisions, colleges, departments, units and organizations be

encouraged to participate in International Week events.
