F83-10 ENTRY LEVEL MATHEMATICS (ELM) EXAMINATION SANCTIONS; PROBATION

At its meeting of December 5, 1983, the Academic Senate passed the following Policy Recommendation presented by Louie Barozzi for the Instruction and Research Committee.

ELM SANCTIONS

F 83-10

WHEREAS, AAPEO 83-1 stipulates that campuses require students subject to taking the Entry Level Mathematics Examination (ELM) do so before the end of the first semester of enrollment, and

WHEREAS, AAPEO 83-1 further dictates that students failing to take the exam in the prescribed time "...shall be subject to provisions of Executive Order 393" (Scholastic Probation and Disqualification); be it therefore

RESOLVED, That students, subject to taking the ELM, who have not done so by the end of their first semester of enrollment may be placed on Administrative Probation pursuant to E.O. 393, and that failure to satisfy the requirement makes them subject to Administrative Disqualification.
