The Academic Senate, at its meeting of May 12, 1975, passed the following recommendation
as presented by Ms. June McCann, Chairwoman, Curriculum Committee.

RECOMMENDATION # 3 REVIEW OF ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
S 75-14
WHEREAS, The CSUC Ad Hoc Committee on Academic Standards, after careful study of the
whole matter of maintaining high academic standards, has recommended (as #3 of 15
recommendations) that:
Procedures be developed whereby campus groups reviewing academic programs include
"outside" members drawn from other departments on the same campus, from the same
department on other campuses, or both; and
WHEREAS, The Curriculum Committee, charged with (1) review of this recommendation and
(2) making recommendations for implementation, believes the following to be desirable
procedure for this campus; now therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the Senate endorse recommendation # 3 of the report of The CSUC Ad Hoc
Committee on Academic Standards; and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Graduate and Undergraduate Studies Committees use the recommended procedure in (1) reviewing existing programs, and (2) studying new programs prior to forwarding them to the Academic Senate Curriculum Committee.
