At its meeting of May 3, 1982, the Academic Senate approved the following policy
recommendation as presented by Arthur Regan of the Organization and Government
Committee,

INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND COMPUTING ADVISORY BOARD
The Data Processing Committee shall be eliminated.
A new Information Systems and Computing Advisory Board shall be established.
The IS&C Advisory Board shall be a special agency of the Academic Senate.
The IS&C Advisory Board membership shall be composed of one member from each of the
following:
Office of the AVP
Office of the Director of Admissions and Records
Office of the AEVP/Business Affairs
Office of the Director of the University Library
Systemwide Academic Computing Representative
Office of the Director of Testing and Evaluation/Office of the Dean of Students
School of Applied Arts and Sciences
School of Business
School of Education
School of Engineering
General Unit
School of Humanities and the Arts
School of Science
School of Social Science
One Student
AEVP/IS&C (non-voting member)
Director of Institutional Research (non-voting member)
Members to fill "office" seats shall be designated by the dean/director of the office.
Members to fill "school" seats shall be nominated by the Committee on Committees for appointment by the Academic Senate; these appointments shall be for three year terms; these terms shall be staggered.
The Chairperson shall be elected by the Board, from among its members, annually.
Otherwise, all Academic Senate policies pertaining to Committee Membership shall be observed.
The IS&C Advisory Board shall study problems relating to and recommend policies concerning
automatic (electronic) data processing.
The IS&C Advisory Board shall serve as an advisory group to the AEVP/IS&C, on all matters of
policy and planning.
The IS&C Advisory Board shall report semesterly, and make policy recommendations, to the
Academic Senate via its Executive Committee.
The IS&C Advisory Board may make recommendations to the President, on all matters of
planning and review, both in campus affairs and in systemwide affairs.
The IS&C Advisory Board shall receive all communications from the Division of Information
Systems that are addressed or copied to the EDP Advisory Committee.
